Sam Leccia and the Cain F tour
Sam Leccia came to Omaha for the Cain F tour. Sam is the inventor of the Oliva NUB cigar and the Oliva CAIN.
The rock star of the cigar world. Totally awesome dude, way cool to hang out with and talk too.
Also got to see our good freind and Oliva cigar rep; Cory Horinek!
Sam rolled cigars for everyone, hung out, was cool... and then fired up his smart phone and made people sing karaoke into it!

Sam rolled this custom cigar while he was there, took him about an hour to make it. ALL that design that you see is done with leaf. He cut it all out and rolled it all carefully before our eyes.
Then our buddy Jimbob was awarded the cigar later for being a super cool, cigar nutjob!

Some freinds from Chicago made the trip to Nebraska for some cigar smoking.
Adam's XS650 fighter
Adam's XS650 fighter that he built himself by welding the back half of a R6 to the XS cradle.
This is his first bike build ever. And the paint is all done by him as well.

Bug eyes
One of the Vulcan's previous evolutions. Miss this setup. The rack over the headlights was super handy, and was really light. I may try to set this back up again someday after the hardtail conversion. We will have to see how I feel about it later on. Right now I really like the skinnier look of a single headlight.
Manual
I got out my old 50mm F/1.4 Super Takumar manual lens and Canon EOS adapter the other day and played with it a bit.
This shot and the one of the Tonka Post apoc semi below were taking with this lens.
I rarely take my two Super Takumar manual lenses with me anymore because bag space is so limited and they weigh a ton.
I should really make an effort to get them out more often .... color is funky though, since there is some yellowing on the lens. I have used a black light to burn some of it out of it, but some still remains.
I still dig it. It's hard to beat the amazing feel of the precise, smooth, mega-mechanical feel of a nicely built manual focusing lens. Wish people hadn't figuired out HOW nice... prices are pretty high now. Oh well.

Jerry the genius
Jerry's car tired 750 Triumph, and the first of a pair of XS650 choppers he is building for his sons.
Jerry does 100% of the work building his own stuff. He lives out on his farm, and dominates any and all projects he decideds to undertake.
He had and amazing GM V6 powered trike all built...but before I could take pics, he cut it all up and decided to start over with a complete redesign because he realized he could make it with a shorter wheelbase using a FWD motor and tranny.
All farmer engineering all the time.

I spent a lot of time trying to motivate myself to take these photos... It's just another 57 Chevy. Ho hum.
And it's black.
Yawn.
In the end, I just decided to try it anyway... and it was in the dudes driveway, in a bad spot.
But, I think they came out alright... certainly nothing special, and not my favorite car shots I have ever taken by ANY means... but cest le vie.
